Personal Evangelism

Just sharing a few thoughts after spending a couple days at the Ga Baptist Mission Board Evangelism Conference.  The conference was titled “The Urgency of the Gospel”.

I attended with 3 of our other pastors, and we had the opportunity to hear some of the leading authorities in the nation on evangelism.  Some of these men started churches that have won thousands of people to Christ over the last few years, others are trained to the maximum available, and all are concerned with two things – the souls of people around them and the lack of concern of the average church for the souls around them.

Truth is, most of our current American churches aren’t concerned about reaching the lost people in their community.  They ARE concerned with meeting budget, telling a friend, neighbor, coworker, or classmate about their church as long as they would “fit in” with our type of crowd.

God help us.  I’ll share more later, but in the mean time – pray and ask God to show you 1 person you can tell about Jesus or at least bring to Bible study or church – and have no regard for their color, ethnicity, or place in life.
